KISS Blooming Lily Lashes

Monday, July 25, 2016

KISS Blooming False Lashes are available at boots and superdrug both online and in stores for £6.75 per set.

Blooming Lash is a new range of lashes from the popular False Nail/Lash Brand KISS. There are three different lash styles in the Blooming range all of which have multi-angle technology for a more natural effect. I chose the Lily style lashes which are tapered at the ends and get longer towards the outer edges for a cat eye effect.

One of the first things I noticed about these lashes was how thin the band is in comparison to other false eyelashes I have tried. When it comes to false eyelashes the thinner the band the better as a thinner band gives a more natural, undetectable look and makes the eyelashes much more lightweight and comfortable to wear.

I find these lashes much easier to apply than any other eyelashes I have tried from the likes of Eyelure. I also found that due to the thin band and general lightweight that they are able to stay on the eyes for a really long time without lifting at the edges.

Confession time - I wore these lashes on a night out, they lasted through drinking, dancing and were still on in the morning when I woke up which is a first for me (usually there would be one stuck to my forehead/chin/wherever it lands and the other one would be lost forever, probably in the place where all the hair grips go to die) but these were still on perfectly!

For £6.75 which is just slightly more expensive than other lashes on the market I think these are still a great deal and definitely worth the price.

If looked after correctly these lashes could be worn at least five times which would be around £1.35 per wear, which isn't too bad at all in my opinion.

I would definitely recommend these lashes to anyone, I give them a rating of four out of five stars.

Travel Post - A Visit to Sorrento, Italy

Wednesday, July 20, 2016

Sorrento is a coastal town in southwestern Italy, facing the Bay of Naples on the Sorrentine Peninsula. Perched atop cliffs that separate the town from its busy marinas, it’s known for sweeping views and Piazza Tasso, a cafe-lined square.

I visited Sorrento in October of last year. The weather fluctuated during my stay massively, at the beginning of my trip there was torrential rain that seemed as if it would never end but nonetheless I bravely (or so I thought) ventured out from my resort in Sant'Agnello to visit the famous Piazza and beautiful old town.

Luckily for me the weather did warm up for the rest of my trip and I managed to visit many of the surrounding towns and cities including Pompeii and Capri Island which was possibly my favourite place I have visited.

Aside from the breathtaking views of Sorrento I couldn't possibly create a post about my trip without mentioning my favourite part of all, the food!

Every restaurant that I ate in during my stay was spectacular and I truly believe that the Italians make some of the best food in the world, especially the ice cream which was unbelievable.

Sorrento is a beautiful, incredibly romantic town that I would recommend to couples looking to get away for a romantic long weekend, families wanting a relaxing but cultural holiday and everyone else in-between.

Sorrento was my first ever visit to Italy and I completely and utterly fell in love. The perfect setting for romance, adventures, delicious food and evenings filled with laughter, love and prosecco.

Sleek Cream Contour Kit In Light Review and Swatches

Monday, July 18, 2016

The Sleek Cream Contour Kit comes in a selection of three shades Light,Medium and Dark. I purchased the shade Light which consists of six pans of cream products in different shades.

Available to purchase for £10.99 from or at Boots and Superdrug in store and online.

On the back of the outside packaging Sleek say that the kit includes two highlighting shades and four contouring shades that 'work together to help you take your features to new dimensions'.

In terms of packaging this palette is very true to the whole sleek packaging vibe which tends to be black, matte plastic very Nars-esque.

I do like the packaging as it is very Sleek - excuse the pun, it has a hinged mirror which is always fantastic for me as I can prop it on my desk and use it when applying my make-up. The one gripe I do have with not only this palette but all Sleek packaging is how easily it gets dirty, you only have to touch it once and it will be full of fingerprints which I find really annoying.

Obviously with all make-up it's inevitable that It will start to look grubby put I found it very disappointing how quickly it happens with Sleek make-up in particular.

The shades in the kit range start at shade 01 A light pale yellow shade which is perfect for highlighting under the eye area and on the forehead, then moving onto 02 which is a light pink toned flesh colour, 03 is very similar in shade to 02 although with more of a yellow undertone. 03 is one of the better shades in the palette in my opinion as I feel it would suit more skin tones with the warmer tones.

04 is a mid-toned tan colour which I feel is a big jump from the paleness of 03 and 02. I think the palette would be better overall if there was an in between of these two shades as opposed to the unrealistic pinkness of shade 02. 05 and 06 are both really nice neutral browns both on the mid tone side which is great for contouring on lighter skintones.
